I think it's likely that he has cancer. Or some issue related to his past bout with it. But fact remains that we do not know for sure. I don't know, and neither do you. Stating that fact is not "denial".
OK.
We'll leave it there and get back to that after Apple's official press release one day.

All Apple software and hardware can be demoed for free at any Apple store. I have brought in cameras, printers, monitors, etc... and was allowed to test them and demo them before I purchased. It's an amazing place go visit sometime.

With but $1,500 worth of equipment and some ingenuity, security researcher Chris Paget can create his own cell phone tower.
Here's the catch, however: The tower itself isn't real. It's a fake recreation of a GSM base station that allows Paget to overpower the actual signals from real-life base stations. The end result? Cell phones connect to PagetNetor whatever name he's assigned his creationthinking that they're accessing an actual cell phone tower.
When that happens, Paget can listen in to the conversations and/or record them at his leisure. His devicean International Mobile Identity Subscriber catcherbounces the call to an actual cell phone tower and the user is none the wiser, save for the fact that all inbound calls now go directly to said user's voicemail as the carrier considers the actual phone off-network.

Can anyone confirm this? It's so annoying when new features are turned on by default. I guess I just need to delete my account. I have a fb, but never check it, but I keep it around just because I get an email if somebody sends me a message on there and then I contact them back. Facebook is just awful, worst mistake signing up for it. If you don't have one DON'T GET ONE!!

Did they give you the full HE discount though - Leopard for 58.75? Or did they charge 75?
I payed 76.50 which is what they call the Individual Educator discount. I wasn't aware that there are different education discounts.

You know, it's entirely possible she was just being friendly to you when she chatted you up outside the store. If she'd just left work, she was probably still in a "friendly be nice to customers mode". Especially if you'd just purchased something, she might have seen you as a future high ticket customer and thought she'd just greet you for a moment, you'd just talked and she figured, why be rude? A lot of people in retail have a "friendly" demeanor that is used on customers, and does not indicate a willingness to sleep with their customers. One of my employees has a real problem with this, she goes above and beyond to help a customer, and they interpret it as being more than just helpful. On more than one occasion she has done exactly what this apple employee has done, hiding in our back offices or sort room until the customer leaves. I hate to tell you this, but it sounds like she was trying to be nice, and now she's weirded out because her niceness has gone too far. If she hid TWICE, that's probably what it is.
But, just to be positive, maybe she's been getting in trouble for socializing while at work, and she can't be seen flirting with you while she's working. I just didn't want to steal all your hope.

This is a typical out of touch cable company STILL trying to get people to pay for a channel line up that includes 90% of choices they'll never look at.
Enough of this Time Warner, and the rest of you. Bring on the Netflix, Roku's, and AppleTV's of the world.
what are you talking about? it's not time warners fault....u can blame the networks.

if you set up a business streaming somebody else's copyrighted material, you should certainly face stiff penalties but it shouldn't be a criminal charge

Ya, actually one of the first things that popped into my mind about this is that it was planned to help both companies images and relationship seem better in the press!
Judging by the body language I'd venture to guess whatever it was they were talking about Jobs had the upper hand.
Just because their demeanor is civil does not mean their exchange is.

STEVE: Do you have any idea how badly I wanna kill you?
ERIC: Yes.

OK, now that we'll have iPod integration on flights from major airlines... And there's talk of broadband access in-flight at some point in the near future. Hmmm... I can see it now. Steve's plan is to have the iPod integration in place so that the next time I'm on a 14 hour flight, I have nothing to do but play with my iPod and shop the iTunes store. ...World domination, one small step at a time.
Buying a movie or music while in-flight would be very cool!

These brands do not have to overtly say that they are superior to a Kia, because that is accepted by most people. The average person invests more time thinking about cars, houses and clothing than they do about computers- face it, we're geeks. Apple is attempting to create, for themselves, a premium image that goes beyond people who are invested heavily in this kind of decision. Similar to when premium beers started hitting the market, or premium mens skin care products. Many people will tell you they prefer sam adams, though if pressed to tell you why it is better, many couldnt come up with good reasons (maybe taste). Same with Skin Care. I dont use the store brand stuff anymore, but I coudlnt tell you why the brand I use is really better- I know little about that stuff, so I have to go based on product claims. Most people arent that sensitive that they are going to cry when a commercial implies their purchase isnt as cool as someone elses.
Beer commercials do frequently point out that their competitors beers are crap- in a crowded market, you have to give customers hueristics. Computers are something that people put research into, but generally do not even understand what all of those things mean- trust me, I've been involved in many computer purchases for relatives and friends.

I know Steve has some kind of plane to take on the Pentium world hes a smart guy especially if he got this far.
I have 2 Pc's yes still no mac....
Comp 1: P3 700Mhz w/ 256mgs, Geforce 2
Comp 2: p4 2.4 Ghz w/ 512mgs, Geforce 3
Let me tell you I was so excited about the "new Pentium 4 Processor" when it came out. To tell you the truth there is not a whole lot difference between Pentium 3 700Mhz, and Pentium 4 2.4Ghz. I was actually dispointed because everybody made such a big deal about it. The Mhz numbers looked nice on p4 but I waisted my money!

i don't know why wally world and target are complaining, this will not hurt DVD sales. like what was said. there are allot of people that cant afford new Mac's to play there movies (my problem). or live outside of the city and don't have a high speed connection (cause they are to far out) or just cant afford satellite internet. i like to have the original copy (in dvd format) i know allot of other people that also like to have a dvd of the movie.
boy are they stupid (wall-marts and target) in not seeing this.

I allready posted that, but everyone seems to be overlooking this fact (including you :P)
So, this time in bold:
People, one of the airlines mentoined has denied the deal, so it's not sure if it is true!
I think we might just be surpressing this..
..this is veeery un-apple. Last time I remember something like this was Steve announcing the G5 would reach 3GHz within a year, upon which IBM said they would try to get it to 3GHz within a year.
..I'm guessing someone got fired at Apples today..

I can see different form factors. Apple at some point does have to up the ante as no other phone maker uses their "one size fits all" approach. If say they dared to offer a model with a physical keyboard that may facilitate a reason for different screen sizes. Though I still kind of take the stance that the physical keyboard is the two button mouse issue all over again. I'd love a physical keyboard though! My thumbs always hit the space key, the n, the erase key...
But if Apple really wants to compete with Android's adoption, having a few other devices to appeal to more users would be smart. But not holding my breath.

Last year Macrumors posters told me in no uncertain terms that CR is always wrong.
So how am I supposed to take this news?
uh....use your own brain......lol a no brainer

I thought Justin Long was great in Jeepers Creepers, along with Gina Phillips (who played his sister) and of course Jonathan Breck (The Creeper).
That is one scary flick.

hmm, what are the chances of there being prototype iphones linked to tmobile and verizon's networks existing in the 'wild'? i'm assuming that while websites such as MR can tell what kind of device (ie, ipad, imac, etc) is connecting to their servers, there isn't a way a to tell which network it's connecting from (ie, att, verizon, comcast)..?

sweet :D welcome to the team in that case,
sidenote, hmmm mines been fetching a new WU for the last half hour, my iStat is showing no net usage or downloads :S any ideas whats going on?
hmm the log is showing no more work left :S i've just restarted F@H and selected the ' larger then 5Mb option ' but still nothing :S anyone else getting this?
Restarting should fix it but it may cough a few times or you can get rid of the queue.dat file to get it going again. if you are using the terminal start it with "./fah6 -config" and when you get to the part where it asks if you want to change advanced setting say yes and use defaults for everything, except say yes to scientific wu's, and it should give you something to work on. Scientific wu's are alpha and beta stage wu's which could have problems but usually finish ok for me.
