Somewhat the same situation happened to me, and my attorney advised this in order to avoid the filing:
You may call your bank and hold the checks that you sent second time. If INS finds that the check is not 'withdrawable' they will not file your application.
This is bad advice. Search other forums (Murthy etc) - i've seen similar threads where some smarta$$es tried stop payment and USCIS sent the unpaid application fee to collection agencies.
I would strongly advise you against doing this--Filing a 2nd I-485 application was a misinformed and stupid decision - consult a lawyer before you make your situation more confusing.

I have been trying to change my address online for the last two days and it looks like the system is down. I called them up and they are not able to do it either. What a mess. I hope they don't mail our applications till the issues are resolved.
Also if I only want to change address on pending applications but not AR-11, there is no such option (other than calling them).
It looks like their systems are down since yesterday. Today even case status wasnt working for a while (it seems to be working now).
Anyone else having issues?

You are not the only one to get that message. Info pass appointments are tough to get now. Check during odd hours. I finally found one after hours. ASC's are NOT the same as Field offices. Also Some Field offices require you to show the corresponding state drivers license.
Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely. One SHOULD do change of address as under.
1) Fill AR-11 online
2) Mail AR-11 (Delivery Signature proof)
3) Call USCIS for change of address
4) Within a week take Infopass appointment to verify whether address is
changed or not.

Finally after waiting for 5 yr of waiting I am ready to file for 485...a quick question. Last Year I applied for H1 extension along with H4 for my wife.for some reason she didn't get the approval notice(online case does show her case approved ) Now for 485, I need to send her H4 which I don't have..What options do I have? I asked my employer and he was clueless..
He said you can print online case approval status(webpage) and send it along with H4 reciept notice or apply for I 824(application for approved petition) which I am not sure how long it would take..I coulnd't find any premium processing info for I-824

The problem here is that a large number of people whose pd is current have signed up for infopass to get their case status - knowing very well that this is nothing but a waiting game. This forum is full of infopass experiences where people have not got any information that they already don't know.
And now it is people like you, who really need an appointment, suffer.
Anyway, maybe you can just show up at the office and plead your case.
