My husband had only signed the offer letter, which did not talk about any employement contracts. There was a condition to pay some money if i left compnay before 1 year, which is not valid anymore for him.
So what you suggest what should be my bext step.

am also actively looking/shopping around to get a decent life insurance quote. meeting one broker tomm. she'll give me approx. rates for metlife, ny life and few other life insurance companies.. will PM you if i find competitive rates.

the only way to extend the H1 is to:
- have an LC >365 days old
- her I-140 approved
Without either of those she does not qualify for H1 extensions. Best bet if EAD takes longer than 4 more months (should not, most people have got it within 90 days) and she cannot stop working for a while might be to try and recapture time spent abroad (to fully utilize the 6 years). If you were on vacation or travelling on business, hten all those days spent abroad can be used as additional H1 time. if thats been 4-5 months in ht elast 6 years, it might be worth recapturing...

I have been following this ongoing decision closely. I feel that going on EAD offers no disadvantage when compared with h1b extension (once 140 is approved and 6 months have passed).
just like h1b you can stay on top to get it renewed every year. Unless one is a bachelor and plans to get the spouse on h4, chamging to EAD doesn't cause any harm. I know a lot of friends who have been on EAD for several years now and have not had a single problem. Th only risk is that if the 485 is rejected, then you have no shelter. But that chance is soooooooo little and i think the 485 rejection only occurs if one is considered to have broken a law, commited a felony or has been in any legal problems.
I am on h1 andhave 2 years and am planning to go on EAD- atleast i can save those 2 years and if some thing happens with my 485, i think i can get h1 sponsored. I don't think so its a one way street (h1 to EAD).

DOL claimed that the newspaper ad was sent to them without the date of it. So we sent them back the whole paper-page where the date is usually printed at the very top with my job ad on it.

I did check the USCIS website for the July 17, 2007 (reinstating the July Visa Bulletin) and July 23, 2007 (about I-485 fees) notices that are specified on murthy.com link you provided, but did not find them. Whatever your employer telling may be true. Most clients will take 60 to 120 days to clear invoice. If your employer promises to pay within 3 to 4 months you can wait for that and take action.
I left the job last month as I was getting better opportunity. I gave notice period to my employer and he was being cool at that time but then I did not get salary credited in my account for last month when I called my employer and inquired about that, he said he has some dues invoices to client and can not pay until he gets money from client. Can you please suggest me what should I do in this case? My employer said it will take 3-4 months to get those invoices clear.
Please see I am on H1B and never been on bench or out of status.

Proves that we are not cheap labor and we are not driving the salaries down. I know citizens in my position in my company are not being paid more than me. We had waited for three months to fill a position and we have to compromise in the end because we could not get enough resumes to go through.

I have to believe that somewhere between 7,500 and 12,000 people are actively in the process of upgrading their preference classifications right now. As the months progress, this number will increase. All of these people will move onto the EB2 waiting list with older priority dates, in some cases as early as 2002. When this happens, it will push those with more recent priority dates back in line, increasing the time they must wait for visa availability

In short, EB3 is doomed....

I got similar letter for my SR regarding EAD. After I got this letter, my EAD was approved in 80 days. My EAD was pending for more than 270 days when my lawyer opened an SR. I got my EAD exactly after 365 days.
I am sure somebody is working on your case.
cool..hats off to USCIS...1 yr EAD will take 1 yr to process. u should apply ur next EAD now itself...this is implicit suggession by USCIS to you (and us)

Did you also mail them other supporting documents such as:
copy of current I-94
copy of I-485 receipt
DL/PP first two pages etc?
These are all mandatory supporting documents to be mailed.
I just got the RFE for the I-131 and they just asked for two pictures.
I applied online and the asked me not to send anything, so now they requested these pics.
I already sent them, so hopefully I'll get my travel document soon!

how is that cheating? If I take a appartment on rent with lease on my name, pay my rent, pay my taxes, work for a US based company, pay my bills?
Well..I guess..eb3retro may have wanted to know if that is not cheating then what would be anybody's intention in paying all those rents/taxes when you are not physically here :confused:
