Did you notice that their were two cameras attached to the Mac screen?

Is this be the beginning of 3D iChat, photos and movies? No. They had two demo systems with matching configurations so if one failed they could switch to the other with a touch of a button. ...in other words one iSight for each demo system they had setup.

Please Apple, wirelessly update everything (iTunes, iPhotos etc). It is long overdue. Plugging my iPhone into my MacBook make absolutely little sense.

What did they ban and why?

They banned songs like Lucy in the Sky and Ticket to Ride... (not to mention Metallica's Seek and Destroy) because the songs reminded people of the event.

To all those cutting military by huge percentages, what are your plans to deal with the millions of unemployed that would produce?

To be fair, if we would make the significant cuts to balance the budget, there would be huge amounts of layoffs regardless. So we might as well destroy the jobs that don't produce long-term benefits for the country, than cutting education jobs and funding (as an example) that would definitely hurt us in the long-term.

    Cuts aren't fun. :(

Would China charge Apple an import duty to sell made in USA products there? I hope we're not that dumb.

If they did go this route it would have to use glasses free 3D. I'm sure they would also have the ability to turn it off just like the Nintendo 3DS so I don't see why there would be a cause for alarm.

I don't know that I would call it feminized, but it certainly seems bratty and petulant. Sell them everywhere! Someone mentioned Starbucks and 7-11... and while they were being douchenozzles about it, I say those sound like great ideas. I don't care if they sell them at hot dog carts in the park... the more places that sell them and the more people that see them the better. When you limit an item to boutique stores, the items get a stigma of being posh and elitist... that is NOT how you move tons of product.

The Commodore 64 was also a revolutionary product that was priced exceptionally well and far ahead of its time. As soon as Commodore moved this product into Toys R Us, Kmart, etc. it became a toy. If Costo, Sam's Club and Walmart were around back then, I'm sure we would have seen them there as well.

Apple is making this move to combat Android market share. Android devices are largely sold through cellular operators, so for Apple to open the flood gates at a number of large consumer retailers is a sign that Apple is getting more aggressive about increasing iOS market share in places where Android has no presence. Without a viable Android competitor in the tablet space, all of those analysts are going to have to start revising their market share charts soon.

Hi, I just bought an iPad 2 and am having trouble installing the latest version of iOS. Also, I'm having a 3G connection issue with the Verizon network and I think there may be some light bleed on the LCD panel. Can you help me?

Do you know what a computer without drivers is? A paperweight. The OS is not a single monolithic thing; it's made up of many components. The notion of what is "written into the OS" is more complicated than you seem to think, and it's childish to dismiss a vulnerability because it's in a driver.

That it, comparitively speaking, won't be as hard to apple to plug the vulnerability since all they have to do is limit the control granted via the card and/or just update the driver... You can get off your high horse now... :-P

    1) The MBP doesn't use the same batteries.
    2) If you don't return your defective battery they will charge you.

You sure you want to do that?

    B

You need to see my first post regarding this bashing on the first guy who changed his letters on his serial number to get his exchange through. I essentially said he is either smart or a thief.

I would not do this. PLEASE PLEASE see my prior post.

    Here it is:

It's interesting that in a previous post, an Apple Store employee mentions the Best Buy ads having been set in place before the Japan Earthquake.

The Target I stopped at on my way to my Flash Animation course last Tuesday had a note in the iPad case saying that stock was delayed due to the Earthquake as well.

Again, you've made some good points, Nipsy. But you're so childish in the way you present your replies, with stupid and pointless remarks about things that i haven't addressed and wouldn't care to address, that i'm not about to take you seriously.

You have insulted me and since you are taking my responses so personally, i will respond in like.

"business acumen"? Hahaha. Grow up, kid. You have demonstrated that you know nothing of the computer industry or the position that Apple holds, but merely fabricated what position YOU think Apple holds, "as a shareholder". You haven't admitted when you were wrong and you're just blindly arguing for Apple.

I never said anything about us designing chips for Apple and to even bring that up is moronic. It doesn't add to the argument or make a point, it's just suggesting that i said something that i didn't. If you can't see that, then kindly re-read my posts before replying.

You are not getting kudos for making good points, you are getting kudos for making popular replies. The ones that most Mac users here want to hear - How much Apple owns and how they have a masterplan that, mysteriously, never seems to quite work out for them, now does it.

Well it seems as though Apple has gone with IBM, so part of their "plan" is to improve chip speed, just as i suggested they should.

I never suggested that the only way for Apple to survive is purely chip speed, i suggested that that is a major part of it and to say it isn't is moronic.

In the end, Nispy, we have agreed on many points and if this whole argument had gone a little better, without petty, childish insults on your part, which i'm ashamed to say that i have contributed to in this last post, and complete missunderstandings of my posts, we could have come to some kind of constructive conclusion. Clearly that wasn't your aim.

I just hope you have achieved whatever you intended to with your childish endeavors in this thread.

well defending a country doesn't equal "having the capability to blow up another country thousands miles away". For many european countries, apart of France and Britain, it never was needed because they lacked colonies

also todays political realites need to be kept in mind: after german reunification and the fall of the warsaw pact, an aweful lot of armies were simply way to overblown. With the EU expansions even more: what is the point of keeping thousands of tanks when there is no country next to you which has even close the capability to be a danger to you and neither has any motivation for a military attack.

It's not their fault that the US is still stuck in cold war spending.

    MacRumors

    http://www.macrumors.com/images/macrumorsthreadlogo.gif (http://www.macrumors.com)

As WWDC approaches, a number of images (mostly fake) and last minute speculation continue to emerge. The most notable tidbits:

    - Robert Scoble (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops/robert-scoble-says-there-will-be-a-dizzying-amount-of-new-products-at-wwdc-191572.php) claims that Apple is "readying a dizzying amount of new products" reportedly based on inside information. (previous claim (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2003/02/20030218034443.shtml)).

    - A WWDC Banner photo (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060803110323.shtml) (mirror (http://guides.macrumors.com/Image:Wwdc2006.jpg)) has been revealed, showing off the usual development icons. No clear new announcements have been revealed, but Apple is prominently displaying the "64-bit" emblem.

    - It appears that Apple will be distributing a Leopard Preview build to developers at WWDC. Apple has already posted (http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/QTNoStepsDemo/index.html) some sample code with the Build Requirement: "Leopard Preview".

    - More iPhone images (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060802215346.shtml) and movies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v520U3vS2iI)) (both likely fake).
